German director Wim Wenders was in the midst of filming the modernist choreographer Pina Bausch when she died suddenly in 2009. A ground-breaking visionary whose cogent and compelling work with Tanztheater Wuppertal transformed the history of dance, Bausch believed in blending the formal vocabularies of theater, dance, sound, and design.
