New Contest Offers Members of the Public the Chance to Attend DC Fashion Week Opening Event at National Archives

The Foundation for the National Archives today launched an online contest to allow one lucky winner to receive two tickets to the 2014 DC Fashion Week (DCFW) Opening Night event at the National Archives; a year-long membership for two in the Foundation’s Young Founders Society; and two VIP seats for an upcoming major fashion related Archives event in fall 2014.
The Foundation recently announced a new partnership to highlight Washington, DC’s rich and diverse culture. Leveraging the National Archives Museum’s latest exhibit, “Making Their Mark: Stories Through Signatures,” the Foundation will host DCFW’s Opening Night event on September 24 at the National Archives Building. The evening will debut 2015 Spring/Summer designer collections and include a special presentation honoring DCFW’s 10-years of showcases. The Opening Night event will be free and open to the public, but RSVPs are required. Tickets are available online.
“Making Their Mark” features original signatures from National Archives holdings nationwide – including those from fashion, sports, politics and entertainment – and the stories behind them. The exhibit features the #SignatureStyle of First Ladies and Presidents, including Jackie Kennedy’s pillbox hat, President Bush’s cowboy boots, and more.
