Nixon Legacy Forum: An Archival Treasure Hunt: The Story of the Watergate “Road Map”

The next in the series of Nixon legacy forums will examine the decades-long effort to unseal the secret report the Watergate grand jury submitted to the House Judiciary Committee on March 1, 1974, and is said to have paved the evidentiary path leading to President Nixon’s impeachment (hence the “Road Map” nickname). Unsealed by judicial order on October 11, 2018, many believe this was the most significant archival development in Watergate since President Nixon’s resignation forty-five years ago. Presenting the discussion will be Geoff Shepard, former member of President Nixon’s Watergate defense team and Professor Luke Nichter, who has published two books on the Nixon White House tapes.
