The National Archives hosts the 13th annual free screenings of the Academy Award® nominees in four categories: Documentary Feature, Documentary Short Subject, Live Action Short Film, and Animated Short Film.

Shortly after he turned three, Owen Suskind, the son of journalist Ron Suskind and his wife Cornelia, stopped speaking. Owen was diagnosed with autism, but as the years passed, his family discovered that he had memorized the dialogue of every Disney animated film. As he has grown to adulthood, Owen has gained vital life skills through his connection to animated movies.

The screenings are presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in partnership with the National Archives. This program is made possible in part by the National Archives Foundation with the generous support of the William G. McGowan Charitable Fund. 

All public programs at the National Archives are free. Reservations are recommended; seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. The doors to the building will open 45 minutes prior to the start of the program. Use the Special Events entrance on the corner of Constitution Avenue and 7th Street, NW.
